At 4Site each basement project is assessed in order to determine the most appropriate products to be used during the build. This decision will be based on the specification of a product, its properties and strengths. To this end, when looking at waterproofing concrete we have specified many Hanson/Sika products on past projects.
Hanson watertight concrete contains Sika® ViscoCrete®, which is a powerful superplasticiser. This reduces the water content and in turn reduces the capillary pores within the matrix. Additionally, Sika® 1+ pore blocker is used to block any remaining pores, making the concrete watertight.
Sika products are also used to seal construction joints and other details, from basic hydrophilic strips to injectable hydrophilic profiles.
At 4Site we take great care to ensure that all of the products we use meet the strict compulsory building regulations including full compliance with BS8102:2009 type B integral waterproofing in construction, along with Quality-Assured accreditation.
Furthermore, 4Site always work with consideration being given to our impact on the environment. With this in mind, Hanson watertight concrete is a very sustainable product and as such greatly reduces waste on-site, reduces vehicle movements to site and is 100% recyclable.
